As we move forward with the Rise Up Buffalo project we will be writing about many different aspects of the work done and events put on by non-profit agencies. While studying non-profits “in the field” we will be able to talk on a number of different topics and look at them through a cultural lens. Sociological study can tell us quite a bit about a community, the problems that exist and the solutions that non-profits have put forth.

New topics on the journal will be created to categorize the different areas of work done and better understand the studies being performed. We will be using the following markers for these new topics: “Lessons from the Field”, “Notes on Non-Profits”, “Institutional Ethnography”, “Working for the Org”, “Increasing Awareness”, “Profiles of Action” and many others that are yet to be determined.
